A new relationship...

Today was big.. Actually, screw big. Momentous describes it better.

Up until last evening, till approximately 6 p.m.,I was a PC girl. That's right.. Since the day I logged on to my very first computer, my PC adoring fingers had never touched any other. But, today they did. And, they felt

umm... frustrated.

So much for a smooth transition. I feel like I'm learning a foreign language. New, interesting and exotic.. Yes. But also, on totally uncharted terrain.

I must admit that my PC and I have had a pretty great relationship...besides, of course, the times I used to yell and scream and threaten to throw him out of the window or the times it took 20 minutes to start up and 30 more to just connect to the internet... At least, my fingers knew instinctively where to go. I toggled without thought.. mindlessly italicized words ... But today, with the new apple, every application was an effort. I had to call brother just to figure out how to open Word and use the Internet.

In a fit of panic, I used my Mac-savvy brother as my very own personal Apple hot line.. Of course, when I asked questions like, 'how to bold text' and 'how to shut down', my brother was clearly amused. And I figured I was going to have this do by myself, if not for any other reason- at least to save some face.

So, I've spent all of last night- finally able to understand a little better and capable of publishing this post. And get this....the mac actually comes with a cover note that says ' your mac and you were made for each other' - I am confident of that now. And I am elated and eager to spend time with him and discover all the personality traits, quirks and nuances of my new beau. I know there is also going to be a lot of stressing out and frustration due to the quirks but I expect that. Like a relationship - I'm still getting to know. I just need to relax and let it unfold; spend more quality time, learn how to work with (and accept) his flaws, discover his strengths..and I'm sure the both of us are going to be great together. My apple is exciting and definitely carries it with an air of mystery and is super sleek. And I can't wait to show him off to all my family and friends.

(Also, thank goodness for the Online newbie Mac-user manual .. If only boyfriends came with a user's guide too, I'd be set.)

One way out of user manual for BF's is to complain directly to the "Producers"! I am sure you won't venture out to take that kinda risk.

Probably you can use the meet-the-parents time to provide more inputs on the operating system!!

I hate to tell you this, but Apple only manufactures female Mac's... That may be why is was so awkward at first! :)

That was such a beautiful post! I could just substitute the Apple for the boy (err... why does that remind me of the Bible?) and the post will still hold good. Haven't seen a Mac till now... maybe I'll know only after I've seen one. Some pics, please?
